After a brief discussion of the seventeenth-century fortune of Telesio in Great Britain and France, the author analyzes the conceptual framework of the Telesio reception among several nineteenth-century Italian historians of philosophy and literature, paying attention to the genealogical rationale underlying their reconstruction of the history of early modern Italian thought. Then follows a summary view of the Telesio reception by some prominent seventeenth-century Neapolitan scholars, including Tommaso Cornelio, Leonardo Di Capua, and Francesco D’Andrea.
