I examine the famous debate between Poincare and Russell around impredicativity. After highlighting the main points in the emergence of the concept, I review some elements of Poincare's philosophical position against impredicative definitions. I aim to isolate among his arguments those that target a broader public because they are less dependent on his philosophy.
