The philosophy of computer science,as an individual discipline, is vaguely based upon and still influenced by the ideas of Von Neumann sees abstract structure as the best approach we have to deal with reality and truth inhabits only in mathematical rigor. He believes that even the most complicated reasoning and calculation can be reduced into limited simple rules and assumptions; therefore the only thing worthy is to try to achieve the logical simplicity, harmony and formal beauty of mathematical proof. Von Neumann's theory of automata orignated from the Pythagorasizm, and is a product of the Pythagorean' view of nature of mathematics.
