[Abstract translated by Google Translate: This is the abstract in English… Fidelity to Hippocrates is a constant in Galen's biography. Indeed, it can be said that all his practice as a doctor and scientist aimed at verifying and updating the Hippocratic teaching. For this purpose, Galen makes use of reasoning and demonstrative method, of examination and exegesis of the Hippocratic writings, but without renouncing the empirical observation of Nature: in the crases of bodies, in the seasons of the year, in plants and in the other officinal ingredients. Thus the 'biological' aspect of natural history in books III and IV of the "Therapeutic Method", critically published here and translated into Italian (after books I and II, published in 2018), also brings with it the 'autobiographical' aspect, for the discovery, collection, arrangement and study of all the essential data for natural philosophy and therapeutic practice were operations carried out by Galen in the course of his long life.]
