La teoria del tutto secondo Hawking e Barrow (2019)

unapi

Examining the developments of science that occurred during the second half of the twentieth century, on the threshold of the twenty-first century it is appropriate to revisit the theory entirely developed by John Hawking and John Barrow. In the wake of Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity, Max Planck’s quantum theory and Werner Heisenberg’s the uncertainty principle, the research carried out mainly by Hawking has allowed us to arrive at a general vision of revolutionary reality. Since the birth of modern science with Copernicus, Galilei and Newton, astronomy (and with it mathematics) has achieved unimaginable results during the contemporary age. In the European and international cultural panorama, science has acquired a leading position with respect to philosophy, even if the physical-mathematical disciplines as a whole have highlighted the need to reflect on the existence of mankind in the world and on the fate that awaits in the near future. Hawking and Barrow, as men of science, suggest not to renounce the theoretical considerations that derive from the turning points of science, in general, and astronomy, in particular. Among other things, they highlight the role played by the universities of Oxford and Cambridge in the context of contemporary culture, in the vast European and international panorama.
