En parcourant brièvement quelques textes de différents auteurs du xiiie au xve siècle, de Richard de Fournival à Jacques Legrand en passant par Brunet Latin et Dante…, on tentera de voir comment le goût du savoir va se concrétiser chez les Médiévaux doublement dans l’écriture encyclopédique et l’attention grandissante portée à la constitution et à l’organisation des bibliothèques. Classement des savoirs, souci de vulgarisation président au désir d’ordonner les connaissances autant que de les hiérarchiser. Il s’agira dans cette remontée aux siècles médiévaux de tracer les linéaments d’une archéologie (au sens foucaldien) pour la réflexion et l’étude de la bibliothèque de Bessarion. English: By briefly reviewing some texts by different authors from the thirteenth to the fifteenth century, from Richard de Fournival to Jacques Legrand, via Brunet Latin and Dante, we will attempt to see how the taste for knowledge was to take shape in the medieval period, both in encyclopedic writing and in the growing attention paid to the constitution and organization of libraries. The classification of knowledge and the concern for popularization presided over the desire to order knowledge as well as to rank it. In this journey back to the medieval centuries, the aim is to trace the lineaments of an archaeology (in the Foucauldian sense) for the reflection and study of the Bessarion library.
