Rendere visibile la psiche. Bohr, Freud e Devereux: lo scienziato da spettatore ad attore (2020)

unapi

Based on the Devereux Archive (IMEC) and on Niels Bohr and Pascual Jordan’s writings of the Thirties on the relationship among Biology, Psychology and Quantum Physics, this work relates to Georges Devereux (1908-1985) proposal to elect Psychoanalysis to a paradigmatic model for Human Sciences, as an investigative technique able to cope with the impossibility to observe the Other’s inner side directly. The intellectual confrontation with Bohr and Jordan brings Devereux to the reinterpretation of Freudian Psychoanalysis on the basis of the analogies, proposed by the two physicists, between human and quantum phenomena, within an operative and constructive vision of Science. As the physicist ‘creates’ his scientific object, so the analyst transforms, during the transference, symptoms into an ‘artificial illness’ which allows to observe psychic conflicts thanks to their staging and/or projection on the analyst. As stated by Bohr, the scientist switches from spectator to actor.
