[Abstract translated by Google Translate: This is the abstract in English… Early childhood was a privileged object of philosophical investigation in the second half of the eighteenth century; of a philosophy that brought a new gaze to the human, and scrutinized its origin to discover a more authentic definition. The appearance, on the edge of the European woods, of boys who had grown up in the woods without human contact, and who seemed to be born again, therefore offering the changing path of childhood development from scratch, promised the answer to many questions. With the end of a world and the century of Enlightenment, the rejection of that philosophy was also expressed in the psychiatric field, and precisely through the figures of the wild boys, rescued from the oblivion into which they had fallen only to be the object of the diagnosis of idiocy. The questions about childhood, about the growth process, disturbing because it is obscure in its invisible but at the same time radical transformation movement, were removed. Idiocy was immediately characterized as a childhood disease but, while attracting a very wide spectrum of anomalies in its definition, it left no room for the specificities of childhood. A theoretical path full of shadows, caesuras, concealments, but also for this reason stimulating.]
