[Abstract translated by Google Translate: This is the abstract in English… The topographic map of the Real Sito dei Colli, including the vast area north of the city of Palermo up to the sea, depicted by Pietro Martorana, was ordered in 1814 by Ferdinand IV of Bourbon and created between 1816 and 1817 at the Royal Topographical Office of Palermo. The author, in addition to describing and critically examining this precious documentary source (which belongs to the Palatine fund of the National Library of Naples), also dwells on other "preparatory" drawings which are now kept in the "Cartoteca" of the Military Geographical Institute of Florence. Beyond its intrinsic value, the map helps us to understand and evaluate what was being done in the field of cartography in southern Italy and in Sicily in the first twenty years of the nineteenth century.]
