George H. Rappole (Author)
An illustrated history of New York City's first public water supply system, the Croton Aqueduct, 1842-1893. Its construction and origins are outlined to show not only these topics but the development of civil engineering in these years. The forty-one mile long Aqueduct, now registered under HAER, extends from Croton, in Westchester County, to Manhatten Island, New York.
