[Abstract translated by Google Translate: This is the abstract in English… The multiplicity of models of Roman hydraulic wheels we have received (Verespatak, Dolauchoti, Rio Tinto and S. Domingo) is due to the different degree of approximation with which the designers set their project, or is it the result of a continuous optimization process? Why do the augers found in the mine have at most three principles and an inclination of 30°, whereas Vitruvius imposed eight principles and 36.87°? These are some of the issues that this volume tries to address. The author also, based on the knowledge of the time, sets up a water wheel project based on the principle of optimizing the results, which undoubtedly returns to the Rio-Tinto model, which is the most efficient of all and cannot be further improved.]
