In this paper I want to show the scientific-historical and technical-philosophical conditions of the in the 1960s favoured view on the emergence of “man-machine-interaction”. Either anthropological debates on the “whole” human being and the delineation from cybernetic ideas are the focus of this reappraisal. On this basis, the technical and philosophical conception of an “anthropotechnics” that was projected by the aviation doctor Heinz von Diringshofen around 1960 as well as its dissemination in technical-scientific and public space will be examined.
