Since its foundation (1938), the Museum of the History of Medicine has changed many times its set-up, while preserving its original didactic documentary identity. This is also evident from the recent rearrangement of its small Egyptian section. In accordance with the museological idea of the museum, it takes into account both Egyptology and medical science. The old gypsum copy of the doctor Niankhre is still displayed in the area, but now, next to it - and to the Egyptian museum deposit - a new interactive educational moment has been introduced. This is a video based on the knowledge obtained from translations of the medical papyri of the Pharaonic era, from archaeological findings and from paleopathological data.
