Both Giordano Bruno and Tycho Brahe were close to the Pastor Jon Jakobsen. Copernican, neoplatonic, and reformer of liturgy, this Dane fought orthodoxy on all fields, mainly with his quill. Victim of censorship, on May 14, 1595 he assumed the surname "Venusinus," a reference to Horace's legendary ancestor. After the Nolan's execution, Venusinus avenged his spiritual brother by persuading King Christian IV to send Erik Brahe to Prague in order to poison his cousin. Tycho had always been fond of mocking his enemies, especially Bruno.
