Arbeit - wie sie nicht im Buche steht: das Erinnerungsarchiv Industriearbeit des LWL-Industriemuseums (Work - not as a textbook example: the Industrial Work Memorial Archive of the LWL Industrial Museum) (2019)
1979 gründete der Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) ein dezentrales Industriemuseum, das am authentischen Ort Leben und Arbeit der Menschen im Industriezeitalter dokumentieren sollte. Mit Methoden der Oral History wurden die einstigen Industrieanlagen in ihrer Funktion dokumentiert und so Grundlagen für die künftige museale Nutzung gelegt. Es entstand das Erinnerungsarchiv Industriearbeit, das derzeit über ca. 1600 Einheiten verfügt. Der Aufsatz behandelt die Genese des Erinnerungsarchivs im Kontext der industriekulturellen Diskussion. Anhand von ausgewählten Beispielen zeigt er die Vielfalt, Chancen und Grenzen von Oral History in der wissenschaftlichen Auseinandersetzung mit technisch geprägten Arbeitswelten. In 1979, the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) founded a decentralized industrial museum that was to document the life and work of people in the industrial age at an authentic location. Using methods of oral history, the former industrial plants were documented in their function, thus laying the foundations for future museum use. The Industrial Work Memorial Archive was created, which currently has about 1600 units. The essay deals with the genesis of the Memory Archive in the context of the industrial culture discussion. Using selected examples, it shows the diversity, opportunities and limits of oral history in the scientific examination of technically influenced working environments.]
