William L. Taylor (Author)
Victor Beaudoin created a remarkable photographic archive of the Brown Company (formerly the Berlin Mills Company) of Berlin, New Hampshire and its activities. Using a Graflex large-format camera, he took pictures inside the mills, documented mill construction, traveled to photograph life in the lumber camps, and supervised the making of films. Many of his photographs appeared in Brown Company's newsletter, The Brown Bulletin, and were also sent out as publicity of the company's activities. The collection exceeds 12,000 images and is an outstanding record of the company and the community. It is likely one of the best surviving collections of industrial and community activity in the United States.
