In campo scientifico la nozione di Antropocene ha dato luogo talvolta a un acceso dibattito. Questo volume prova a discutere come questo concetto apra delle prospettive anche nella ricerca antropologica per la comprensione delle dinamiche di mutamento sociale e ambientale in corso. Il testo propone anche una ricerca su una zona umida racchiusa all’interno del polo urbano della Sardegna meridionale. In questo caso l’autore ha cercato di mettere alla prova un concetto cardine dell’Antropocene: la società industriale come forza geologica di trasformazione. Il libro si sofferma anche su una interpretazione antropologica dell’immaginario della fine del mondo nella produzione culturale contemporanea.
