Allen, Garland E. (Author)
The question of how much, if any, Mendelian theory contributed to rise in agricultural productivity in western, industrialized countries in the early question has been the subject of much debate. This paper addresses the question by examining the relationship between the new science of genetics and agriculture, principally in the United States, in the context of the economics of Progressive-ear managed capitalism, and the need for penetration of capital into new arenas such as agriculture. This process ultimately led to the industrialization of agriculture to sit the needs of capitalist investment.
