Uomo, acque, paesaggio nella piana del Foglia: itinerario fra carte, vedute storiche e progetti per il futuro (2016)
Nello studio dei rapporti fra società e costruzione del territorio il tema delle acque è argomento fra i più significativi e interessanti, soprattutto in aree di antico popolamento dove le collettività umane hanno governato le sorti dell'assetto idrografico, disciplinando, dirottando, sbarrando i normali deflussi per asservirli ad esigenze socio-produttive ma, di frequente, dando vita a fragili equilibri artificiali in contrasto con le leggi della natura. L'indagine è rivolta ad approfondire la conoscenza della struttura storico-territoriale della bassa valle del Foglia, muovendo dall'elemento 'fiume', dal suo ruolo generatore di sviluppo economico ma anche di rischi ambientali, dal suo rapporto con la città di Pesaro e con il paesaggio circostante, con la linea di costa e le sue variazioni, con un fondovalle di recente profondamente urbanizzato e industrializzato. In definitiva, essa si propone come esempio di analisi storico-geografica di un piccolo comprensorio e del suo fiume, ricostruita attraverso fonti documentarie e cartografiche, ma costantemente proiettata sul presente, sul paesaggio concreto e visibile dell'oggi. In the study of the relationship between society and the construction of the territory, the theme of water is one of the most significant and interesting topics, especially in areas of ancient populations where human communities have governed the fate of the hydrographic structure, regulating, diverting, barring normal outflows to enslave them to socio-productive needs but, frequently, creating fragile artificial balances in contrast with the laws of nature. The investigation is aimed at deepening the knowledge of the historical-territorial structure of the lower Valle del Foglia, moving from the element "river", from its role of economic development but also of environmental risks, from its relationship with the city of Pesaro and with the surrounding landscape, with the coast line and its variations, with a recently deeply urbanized and industrialized valley floor. Ultimately, it is proposed as an example of historical-geographical analysis of a small area and its river, reconstructed through documentary and cartographic sources, but constantly projected on the present, on the concrete and visible landscape of today.
