Geographical Anthology of the 19th Century On the great exploratory journeys, which had undergone a glorious boom in the 19th century and were instrumental in the establishment of the scientific discipline of geography, scientific texts and detailed maps were created. Of this century, referred to as the "geographical age", there are several articles in geographic magazines, some of which are still hard to find or accessible. To revive this hidden treasure of knowledge, the interest of the series Geographical Anthology of the 19th century is valid. The authors prepare original texts and historical maps for the modern reader by means of up-to-date and contemporary explanations, thus providing a sometimes forgotten panorama of the exploratory joy of the 19th century. The Arctic was the immense area of ​​ice covered with the North Pole as the longest longing point 19th century was the goal of a wave of expeditions that ultimately led to the achievement of the North Pole.
