John Collins and the Double Horizontal Dial (2020)

On his admission to the Royal Society in 1667, John Collins presented to it, and described, an example of Henry Sutton's double horizontal dial with additions by himself. His description given on that occasion is here transcribed with some commentary both on the dial itself and on Collins’ involvement with it.
