In planning for the "Whither IA?" conference in Lowell, three questions were proposed to us: how is one trained to be an industrial archaeologist in Canada; what do Canadian industrial archaeologists do; and how do you envision the development of Canadian industrial archaeology in the new millennium? As Canadian professionals in both the public and private sector whose careers both have been and are concerned almost exclusively with IA, we were in a good position to respond to the query.
