[Abstract translated by Google Translate: This is the abstract in English… The myth of Homer and the Trojan War has aroused and still arouses an undeniable fascination in the common imagination. Since ancient times, there have been questions about the figure of the author, the genesis of his works and the context in which the events described took place. At least starting from the sixteenth century, the literary investigation was accompanied by a topographical one: finding a real location for the Trojan War became functional in demonstrating its authenticity. Essential elements for resolving the "Homeric topographical question" are on the one hand the modern approach and new investigation techniques, on the other the reading of the sources, referring to Homer as the starting point and landing place for the whole problem. What, in fact, emerges is that the story of an idea (sometimes almost an obsession), generated by the desire to find a tangible site in which to be able to imagine the events told by Homer, takes on a totalizing character, investing the unity of thought of scholars of every age.]
