Geohistorical sources and information systems for the knowledge and management of environmental and cultural risks, nel quale interdisciplinarietà e affinamento teorico-metodologico rappresentano il fulcro vivo della ricerca. [Abstract translated by DeepL Translator: This is the abstract in English… Smeraldo Smeraldi, engineer, architect and cartographer of the Farnese family, left a profound imprint on the territory of the Duchies of Parma and Piacenza, evidenced by maps, reports, drawings, and plans (1580-1634). This volume offers a cognitive itinerary of the geographical, political, cultural and territorial context in which the work of one of the most important Farnese cartographers flourished. The reading of diaries and cartographies, rendered in the critical apparatus of the work, reveals the making of the weave of knowledge and interventions that is outlined in the layout of the territory and, with the flow of time, the landscape. The multifacetedness of Emerald's work and knowledge is taken as a symbolic reference for the PRIN - Italian Project of Significant National Interest "Fontes. Geohistorical sources and information systems for the knowledge and management of environmental and cultural risks," in which interdisciplinarity and theoretical-methodological refinement represent the living core of the research. The volume inaugurates the Fontes series, a space for interdisciplinary discussion on interpretation and enhancement of cartographic and iconographic sources.]
