Anthropology, in Kant, owes its raison d'etre and its "pragmatic" approach to choices and reasons that are imposed on it from the outside, in particular from the results of the first two criticisms. In fact, trascendental philosophy marks some fixed points that cannot be circumvented: the failure of the metaphysical transparency of transcendental ideas has large-scale consequences for the anthropological studies, as this paper tries to outline.
