Aritmetica euclidea e filosofia stoica (2021)

This essay shows that the problem of the irrationality of the n-th roots of integers is dealt with and solved in Euclid’s Elements, and that the result is most likely due to the interactions between the mathematicians of the time and the logicians that came before Chrysippus, especially Philo the Dialectician.
