[Abstract translated by Google Translate: This is the abstract in English… Marelli is the name, known throughout the world, of the electromechanical company that Ercole Marelli (1867-1922) founded in 1891. Already in 1911, the company had 1500 employees, spread over 65,000 m² and established itself on foreign markets. This simple fact places the story of Ercole Marelli among those of the enlightened entrepreneurs of the early twentieth century worthy of being read and studied. The journey through the monograph published by Marelli on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the foundation returns records with regards to Made in Italy (product design), the production levels achieved, the organization of work, marketing, corporate welfare, the organization of events. Marelli, therefore, an "unexpected entrepreneur", proves to be a forerunner in numerous business areas, including logistics. His commitment to growth against the excessive power of German industry and corruption in public administration procurement also led the government of the time to establish a commission, the first prototype of today's Consip - the Italian public company that provides frameworks and consultation for the procurement of public goods and services.]
