[Abstract translated by Google Translate: This is the abstract in English… The volume is dedicated to the works of Egnazio Danti (1536-1586) and completes the long rediscovery work carried out by Simone Bartolini. Danti, cosmographer of the Grand Duke of Tuscany Cosimo I, exiled from Florence at his death, worked on the Gregorian reform of the calendar. He was among the first to believe that knowledge could be divulged, so he translated classical texts into vernacular and built instruments on the facade of Santa Maria Novella so that all Florentines could evaluate how much the astronomical equinox (March 11 at the time) was being departing from the ecclesiastical one (March 21). What is described here is the story of the realization of astronomical instruments and gnomonic holes installed between 1572 and 1575 on the facade of Santa Maria Novella, but above all the meridian lines inside the basilica, built in 2016 completing an apparatus astronomical that has waited a full 440 years.]
