La publication d’un numéro des Cahiers François Viète croisant histoire des femmes & du genre et histoire des sciences & des savoirs est l’occasion de porter un regard historiographique et réflexif sur l’évolution de ce champ de recherche au cours des trente dernières années. Cette contribution invite à faire dialoguer les regards de plusieurs historiennes des sciences et savoirs qui ont contribué à la construction des champs des women’s and gender studies. Cet entretien croisé ne vise pas à présenter tous les développements des sciences humaines et sociales, et plus particulièrement de l’histoire des sciences et des techniques, mais à illustrer la diversité des méthodologies et des problématiques de recherche. Evelynn M. Hammonds, Ludmilla Jordanova, Ilana Löwy, Margaret W. Rossiter et Londa L. Schiebinger ont accepté notre invitation et se prêtent à cet exercice afin de mettre en exergue les avancées, les reculs et les obstacles rencontrés dans leurs champs de recherche.
