[Abstract translated by Google Translate: This is the abstract in English… A large body of works has been attributed to Hippocrates of Cos, father of Western medicine. Among these, there are also six treatises on medical ethics: this is the well-known "Oath" and the lesser-known "Law," "Testament," "Precepts," "Decor" and "Doctor," probably dating from the 5th century B.C. and the second century A.D. In these six texts are collected ethical precepts, probably addressed to medical students, which focus on different aspects of the figure of the ancient doctor and his relationship with patients. The good doctor, for example, must not be greedy for earnings, must collaborate rather than compete with colleagues when a case is very difficult, must be reserved and dressed in a sober, severe and at the same time benevolent way towards the patient. Some of these Hippocratic ethical precepts find parallels in texts by other ancient physicians. The volume offers an overview of the most salient aspects of medical ethics attributed to Hippocrates, to the knowledge of which the reader will be guided through the analysis of passages in Italian translation.]
