[Abstract translated by Google Translate: This is the abstract in English… The physician Sabinus lived in a period between the second half of the first and the beginning of the second century A.D. There is almost no information on his homeland: the news in our possession suggests a certain familiarity with Egypt, in particular with the city of Alexandria, where we know that he taught Metrodoro, one of his students. Sabino and his students were known to Galen with the name of "Hippocratics," an appellation which, according to the sources, was self-attributed, probably on the basis of their activity as commentators. Galen cites by name only two members of Sabinus' group: Metrodoro, who must have been the true continuator of the master's work, and Stratonico, who left nothing in writing, having devoted himself solely to practice and teaching. The testimonies in our possession are exclusively (or almost) related to Sabinus' comments to Hippocrates. On the other hand, there are no literal quotations, nor direct evidence of the work of Sabinus' main pupil, Metrodoro, as well as of the other Hippocrates. Most of the surviving testimonies and fragments are due to Galen; they are published in the volume ordered on the basis of the comment from which they presumably come, following the order of the hippocratic lemmas to which they refer. Each fragment is printed together with a portion of the text that contains it, with the aim of ensuring greater intelligibility; at the bottom of the text a critical apparatus is provided which reproduces, with some necessary adjustments, that of the current critical editions of the vector texts. An Italian translation of each fragment and each testimony is proposed, followed by indications relating to the context and a summary of the parts that precede and follow the fragment. Finally, notes presented in the form of a lemmatic comment account for relevant information relating to the content, textual variations, or highlight any points of contact with other fragments. The order of presentation of the fragments is the alphabetical one of the Latin titles of the works of Hippocrates commented by Sabino.]
