Books Exhibits Libraries and archives Provenance 21st century Switzerland Eisenbibliothek

Anlässlich ihres 70. Jubiläums präsentiert die Eisenbibliothek in einer Sonderausstellung unter anderem eine Auswahl von Provenienzen in Büchern aus dem 16. bis 20. Jahrhundert. Der vorliegende Artikel stellt einige der ausgestellten Provenienzen näher vor und erläutert den historischen Hintergrund der Sammlungen, in denen sich die Bücher befanden, bevor die Eisenbibliothek sie erwarb. Auch wenn die Eisenbibliothek mit der Recherche und Erschliessung ihrer Provenienzen noch ganz am Anfang steht, zeichnet sich ein sehr grosses Reservoir und Potenzial ab, das viele Ausgangspunkte für weitergehende Forschungsfragen bietet. (On the occasion of its 70th anniversary, the Iron Library is presenting a special exhibition that includes a selection of provenances in books from the 16th to 20th centuries. This article presents some of the provenances exhibited in more detail and explains the historical background of the collections in which the books were held before the Iron Library acquired them. Even though the Iron Library is still in its infancy with the research and cataloguing of its provenances, a very large reservoir and potential is emerging, which offers many starting points for further research questions.)
