Yehudah Abarbanel’s Astromythology’: in the Footsteps of Marsilio Ficino’s prisca theologia (2020)

unapi

This paper focuses on the Neoplatonic philosopher Yehudah Abarbanel, best known as Leone Ebreo, and the recognition of astrology as one of the true sciences in his Dialoghi d’amore (1535), by considering the intellectual milieu in which Yehudah was embedded. Moreover, it aims to clarify how Yehudah legitimizes astrology as a valid form of the naturalistic knowledge of humankind and the universe by referring to Marsilio Ficino’s "prisca theologia."
