Torino, novembre 1928. Un uomo viene arrestato e successivamente internato nel manicomio di Collegno. È il fratello a denunciarlo e quasi sicuramente a rivelarne le “tendenze omosessuali”, sapendo che questo comporterà l’arresto, il confino o il ricovero in ospedale psichiatrico. La cartella clinica di G. contiene uno straordinario documento autobiografico in cui dichiara la sua omosessualità, denuncia le continue minacce, l’ipocrisia e i ricatti del fratello, per chiedere, con consapevolezza moderna, la sua parte dell’eredità di famiglia ed un risarcimento per le conseguenze socio-economiche dell’omofobia che ha subito. Uscirà dal manicomio con una perizia che lo dichiara sano di mente. Una storia torbida, ma con il lieto fine, dunque, anche se le parole di G. sono un miscuglio di coraggio e opportunismo, determinazione e contraddizioni, paradigma di molte esistenze stritolate dalla macchina repressiva della dittatura.
