The Swedish botanist Carl von LinnE was at the center of the global botanical systematization project of the 18th century, but he was not alone there. LinnE developed a working mode that guaranteed him a steady flow of plants and information, which resulted in his works appearing in supplemented and corrected editions. From this collaborative and iterative dynamic, which shaped not only LinnE's work process but also that of his contemporaries, emerged what is described here as the botanical publication system in the 18th century. Publications emerged from the networking of her author with other botanists who made material and observations available to one another, and thus shared in the works of the others.
