Dyes Pigments Color Ancient Egypt Greece

Die zwei ersten künstlich hergestellten Farbpigmente der Menschheit waren das «Ägyptische Blau» und das «Ägyptische Grün». Letzteres war ein Fehlprodukt, das die alten Maler durchaus verwenden konnten und sehr geschätzt haben. Es war der erste Schritt der Menschen weg von den natürlichen Mineralpigmenten hin zu technischen Produkten in der Malerei. Die frühe Geschichte der Farbmittel ist spannend und führte auch zu Produkten, die nur auf bestimmten Materialien von Kunstobjekten verwendet werden konnten. Dies ist ein Lernprozess, den Forscher auch heute noch durchlaufen müssen. Er ist der Kreativität und der Aufmerksamkeit der alten Techniker geschuldet, wurde aber durch äussere Umstände nicht selten über Jahrhunderte hinweg vergessen und erst durch die moderne Chemie wiederentdeckt.
