Taborska, Malgorzata (Author)
The first globes labeled using the Polish language were produced in the 19th century by the Abel-Klinger Company of Nuremberg ( c. 1860 ) and by Jan Felkl of Prague ( 1862 and later ). Place names were translated from German into Polish. The 19th century was a period of time characterized by a major effort to standardize Polish grammar and spelling. Systematic naming techniques emerged during this time, which produced names that resemble those used today.
