[Abstract translated by Google Translate: This is the abstract in English… In the field of Neapolitan publishing during the eighteenth century, the discipline of mathematics occupies a place of absolute importance, both for the large amount of works produced and for the quality level of some of them. These were scientific works and scholastic textbooks which, quite often, deserved to be reprinted in other Italian cities (where good mathematical texts were not lacking). From a quantitative point of view, however, the university and scholastic texts constituted the most relevant part of a production whose dynamics must be closely linked to significant changes in Neapolitan cultural and civil life: the university reforms of 1735 and 1777, which gave great impetus to mathematics and physics studies with the creation of new teaching posts; the foundation of military schools, in some of which were held long-term courses of high-level mathematics; the opening of the Royal College of the Pious Schools, which in the field of religious schools went to join the Jesuit College and the Archiepiscopal Seminary; the creation of other public schools in other cities of the Kingdom; the presence of professional schools that perpetuated the ancient tradition of commercial schools. The private schools which in the Kingdom of Naples played a major role also in the following century contributed considerably to further publishing production. Among these, great importance in the last decades of the century were the synthetic school of Nicolò Fergola and the analytical school of Annibale Giordano and Carlo Lauberg; two schools that, even for political reasons, opposed each other with a rivalry that deeply marked the Neapolitan mathematics of much of the first half of the nineteenth century.]
