The analysis of documents archived at the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery of Seville brings new light to the understanding of the diffusion of homeopathic theories in 19th-century in Spain. We pay special attention to the controversies and support caused at this institution by Prudencio Querol Cabanes (1774-1858), Juan Lorenzo Velez (1803-1844), and Pedro Rino Hurtado (1808-1882). Our study points out to the above-mentioned authors as homeopathic thinking makers and also defines a specificity of Spanish homeopathy, as compared to the Hahnemannian pattern, that is linked to the pharmaceutical order of the Mediterranean model, with greater pharmacists’ presence.
