Peaks, Politics, and Passion: Grand Teton National Park Comes of Age, Robert Righter's latest book, follows the developments of the park since its creation in 1950. The book discusses such topics as grazing policy, cultural resources, wildlife, education, the growth of the airport, and the on-going debate of what activities are proper in the park and what are not. In his talk he will focus on the airport controversy as well as the effort to divest the park of private lands. Righter's new work continues the story from his Crucible For Conservation: The Fight for Grand Teton National Park, which described the turbulent clash leading to the 1950 park.
