Medicine was not always the one we know today. It took more than two centuries to go from the birth of clinical medicine at the dazzling developments biomédicale.Denis Goulet and Robert Gagnon approach present the evolution of practices and medical institutions and the processes of professionalization and specialization medical care. During this long period of modest hospitals became great hospital complexes, small groups of doctors have given rise to major medical associations and health-conscious measures paved the way for the development of medicine préventive.Dans this long and exciting course, the authors show that recent events such as the overuse of therapeutic products, physician shortages or excesses of hospitals not new and that the evolution of medicine in Quebec reflects that of society in general. This book also highlights the important contribution of Quebec to the advancement of medical practices and medical knowledge.
