The History of Urology in Nazism can be described as a history of the exchange of resources between medicine and politics. In return for their political conduct individual physicians received positions at universities, hospitals and in the health administration. The commitment of the Society for the purposes of National Socialist health policy was rewarded with a strengthening of the institutional position of Urology. The focus of the work are the various urological societies in Germany, including the German Society of Urology founded in 1906, the company Empire of the German urologist founded 1934/1935 and the postwar professional society whose development is followed up in the 1950s. For the period of National Socialism Matthis Krischel examined the orientation of medical research and practice in the Nazi health policy that manifested itself at the same time as race and population policy. For the post-war period, the author examines how society with its own past as well as personal and institutional continuities and breaks.
