Leonid Arbuzov is rightly regarded as the greatest historian of medieval Livonia , which geographically corresponds approximately to the present-day states of Latvia and Estonia, from the first half of the 20th century. In his editorial , source -scientific and performing work - especially his edition of the Chronicle of Henry of Latvia and its Reformation history - is resorted to this day. In the first part of this volume the historiographical legacy Arbusows is analyzed and a bow to the present tense in the second part . This present representatives of the younger generation their research on topics of the Christianization of Livonia from the end of the 12th century to the loss of political independence in 16th century.
