About Diagnostics at the Mental Asylum of Riga Citadel in 1787--1790 (2013)

The article offers information on the mental asylum at Riga Citadel, that was opened by the Livonian Board for Social Care in 1787, in Latvia from 1787 to 1790. The facility is divided according to gender and the rooms of prisoners are separated from women in correction house. The inmates are treated by the police physician and his two assistants. Moreover, the number of prisoners with psychological illnesses are also mentioned.
