The assumption by some evolutionists of the late nineteenth century about the tertiary age humanity elicited intense debate among naturalists, biologists and physicians. In Spain there were adherents and detractors, whose diatribes he entered the general context of evolutionary issue in our country. The debate was especially encouraged Following arrival in Valencia, in 1889, a fossil human skeleton from Argentina that were attributed to primitive features and great antiquity.
