Die Mechanisierung und Rationalisierung der Industriearbeit im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert führte zu tiefgreifenden Veränderungen des Arbeitsalltags. Permanenter technischer und organisatorischer Wandel am Arbeitsplatz verlangte vielfältige Anpassungsleistungen der Arbeiter/-innen.
