In this article a history of convertion developments in the USSR in 60--70th of XX century is rotined. It was happened in connection with opening on the terrritory of country a new deposits of oil and gas, when there was a necessity in change of orientation of workings the resource of aviation turbo-engines for surface works with the purpose of the use them in energy and on a transport. A leading role in this process are belonged to scientists of the Kiyv Polytechnic Institute. In it the preparation of specialists in the branch of gas-turbines was paralell organized. It was unique subdivision in Soviet Union , which was preparing during 10 years the specialists for gas industry.
