Enlightenment is Dimming in the United States (2013)

The article discusses the decline in Enlightenment-oriented intellectual and cultural values in the U.S., which is reflected in the decreasing number of scholarly writings by American physicists in "Physical Review." The author notes that this decline is similar to what Germany experienced by the end of the Great War in the 1920s. A decline in science manifests in the anti-science statements of Republican Party leaders Rick Perry, Mitt Romney and Paul Broun.
