Pierre Curie (1859--1906): A Retrospective View on the Centenary of His Death (2006)

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of French physicist Pierre Curie (1859--1906), whose accomplishments have been eclipsed in the popular mind by those of his wife Marie (1867--1934), this article recounts Pierre's life and achievements, including those made, often with his brother Jacques, before his better known work on radioactivity with Madame Curie, with whom he shared the 1903 Nobel Prize in Physics.
