Many people took them on my first acquaintance with chemistry, and even in times of "digitized" nursery inspired still young for this toy with practical learning. But who came up with the idea of children, youth and adult amateur giving chemicals and torch in hand and allow them to independently carry out experiments? Starting with portable laboratories of 17-18. Century to contemporary copies of the toy trade here is the way the chemistry experiment kits that are used in many ways and developed traced. After initially pocket laboratories still predominantly served as a tool of professional users, published in 1790 also designed specifically for amateur experiment sets. This volume provides the first systematic description of the historical development of the chemistry experiment box. In addition to producers, writers and even their boxes particularly the objective of the set goals and their target groups are represented in each period and analyzed.
